PSD to WordPress FAQ – Answers to Common Questions

Where are you located?

My service is located in and provided from the state of Arizona, in the United States.

What payment method do you use and what currency do you accept?

I have performed thousands of psd to wordpress theme conversions for clients all over the world and I only accept US funds via PayPal. If you prefer I can also utilize Google Checkout.

Where is your price list?

I firmly believe in the old adage “You get what you pay for.” Every psd to WordPress conversion is unique and has different requirements. Some are simple as others are highly complex. Requesting a quote will allow me to properly look at your project and offer a quote I feel falls into accordance with your project.

How exactly does your PSD to WordPress process work?

The conversion process is really simple:

  • You request a quote for your project, making sure to include any and all information as well as screenshots.
  • I review your project and based on the specific needs of your project, I send you a quote.
  • If you agree with the quote, send me your PayPal email address along with the appropriate PSD files.
  • I begin the conversion process
  • Once I am done, I post your project to one of my demo servers so you can see your project in a live environment.
  • You request changes and I implement those changes (as long as they fall within the original scope of work)
  • Once the project is done, I invoice you for the amount you were quoted (invoice will also reflect appropriate PayPal fees).
  • After the invoice is paid, I send you your newly converted WordPress theme.

Easy, peezy, lemon squeezy!

What if I require changes before the first preview of the conversion?

Any changes or additional requirements that are not covered within the initial scope of work (original scope of work being the original PSD file that was sent) will be and are considered additional work and will be noted to be completed after the original theme has been completed. Any additional work will be billed accordingly.

Can I see the theme options panel while previewing my project?

This is a question I get asked all the time. Unfortunately, previewing the theme options panel is not possible as I have other client themes on my demo servers. I follow a strict NDA (Non Disclosure Agreement) and take my clients privacy very seriously.

Can you convert a theme that was purchased from a site like ThemeForest.com or DreamTemplate.com?

The theme I use here on my site was actually purchased from DreamTemplate.com! So yes I can convert any kind of design or site over to WordPress as long as the original author has granted you written permission to do so. I respect and abide by the intellectual property rights and licensing of all designers.

What is the file format you prefer to work with?

The file format I prefer to work with is a unflattened PSD file with any and all specialty fonts used included. This allows me to complete your project faster and deliver a pixel perfect theme.

Will you use my project in your portfolio?

I would love to showcase all of the conversions we have done and if I did I would have a ton of pages in my portfolio section. No I will not showcase your theme in my portfolio unless you allow me to. As mentioned earlier, I follow a strict NDA (Non Disclosure Agreement) and take the privacy of my clients very seriously. If you want me to showcase or will allow me to showcase your theme in our portfolio, you can let me know.

Do you support IE6?

I get asked this question a lot and the answer is very simple: No. The reason I no longer support IE6 is that the percentage of IE6 users out there is slowly bur surely dwindling. Not only that but IE7 has taken over as the new IE6.
